Leading people is a different job.
You may be managing others—or about to step into a leadership role—and realizing that being good at your job isn’t the same as being good at leading people. Maybe you’ve never received formal training in management, or maybe you have, but some aspects of leadership still don’t come naturally.
If you’re responsible for a team, executive coaching can help. It provides support, perspective and practical skill-building.
Why executive coaching helps
It happens all the time. Strong individual contributors are promoted into leadership roles and expected to figure it out as they go. But the skills that made you successful on your own don’t automatically translate to leading a team—the shift is significant. Executive coaching provides space, perspective, and practical guidance for navigating that transition.
When I first became a manager, I had an advantage I didn’t fully understand at the time: my natural style aligned well with a coaching or servant-based leadership approach (which gets you the happiest, most productive teams). Over time, I learned how powerful it is to understand your natural leadership style—what’s working, what’s not, and where small changes can make a big difference. That’s the work I do with clients. We build awareness, identify challenges, and then experiment with new behaviors and skills in real time.
Who I work with
I work with high-performing professionals who lead people—or are preparing to—and want to become more confident, effective leaders. My clients are thoughtful, capable people who care deeply about their teams and want to lead in ways that are purposeful, energizing, and sustainable. They’re willing to slow down, reflect honestly, and experiment with new approaches that strengthen how they lead.
How I work
I work one-on-one with leaders to help them gain clarity, build confidence, and strengthen their leadership effectiveness.
For many clients, coaching sessions are the only protected time they have to step back and think. We start with big questions—What kind of leader do you want to be? What does your team need from you right now?—and then get practical.
Together, we focus on addressing your challenges, often by using skills such as listening, asking empowering questions, giving positive and constructive feedback, and delegating in ways that create clarity and commitment. Other topics often include setting goals, priorities and expectations; having difficult conversations; managing time and energy; preventing burnout; maintaining culture (especially in hybrid or remote environments); and leading with empathy.
Growth doesn’t come from insight alone. It comes from practice and feedback. My role is to help you reflect, experiment, and build confidence in how you show up as a leader.
